- Ep 66: The Psychedelic Explorer's Guide - Risks, Micro-Dosing, Ibogaine, and More
- JAMES FADIMAN, Ph.D., did his undergraduate work at Harvard and his graduate work at Stanford, doing research with the Harvard Group, the West Coast Research Group in Menlo Park, and Ken Kesey. He is the author of The Psychedelic Explorer's Guide. Called “America’s wisest and most respected authority on psychedelics and their use,” Jim Fadiman has been involved with psychedelic research since the 1960s. In this episode, we discuss the immediate and long-term effects of psychedelics when used for spiritual purposes (high dose), therapeutic purposes (moderate dose), and problem-solving purposes (low dose). Fadiman outlines best practices for safe "entheogenic" voyages learned through his more than 40 years of experience--from the benefits of having a sensitive guide during a session (and how to be one) to the importance of the setting and pre-session intention. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

- Our experience of life is described as a river that we embody, that we are a part of, rather than simply living in. Awareness is ever-present, as we learn to become mindful of our experiences without becoming lost in them. Our state of mind determines our relationship to the world around us. Our practice therefore becomes one of quieting the mind, opening the heart, and being present in order to touch all that arises with the spirit of compassion.

Have Some Damn Respect

What compelles a person to bash the shit out of another person's car and have the fucking balls to blow it off? People have no fucking respect for one another. They can't or just right out fucking choose not to take responsibility for what they do. We have a new car only a couple months old and are accumulating dents from piece of shit people. My wife works at a local college where the most recent dent occurred and from the looks of it the person might as well booted the fucking door of their car or truck into ours. I'm just sick of this shit, people have no fucking respect and don't think of anything as their fucking responsibility. Have some goddamn courtesy to try not to bash your door into others. Or even if you had some kind of compassion leave a fucking note or insurance info. Instead they would rather choose to be a damn douche about it and fucking walk off. What the fuck is wrong with people these days? It's fucking sick how were so closely related yet no one feels the slightest connection to treat someone else as they would like to be treated. Yes its bullshit material items but I worked hard as well as my wife for things we choose to get and yet no one will respect that fact. I've bumped doors before, but usually I have the fucking decency to try and be cautious that I don't. Shit happens but fucking own up to it instead of devalue that which isn't yours.

Mixergy Interviews
(podcast)
- #1147 How does Tim Ferriss achieve so much when he has all these inner doubts?
- When I interviewed Tim Ferriss at a live Mixergy event in San Francisco, I expected to have to warm him up with some easy questions before asking him to talk about his inner doubts, but he just went for it. Why did he admit so much in front of a live audience? How can he do all the things he did in his new show, The Tim Ferriss Experiment, despite his doubts? And, more importantly, how can you break through your inner critic? Catch this interview and see for yourself. Timothy Ferriss is the author of The 4-Hour Body, an uncommon guide to rapid fat-loss, incredible sex, and becoming superhuman. His previous book, The 4-Hour Workweek, was a New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and BusinessWeek bestseller

Thoughts on Podcast
Really good lots of helpful information. Really shows that people that seem to be at the top are the same as anyone else. It comes down to self management, and there are tools out there for you to gain insight. Nothing is impossible if you treat it like an experiment, giving it a couple weeks, seeing if its really worth your time and interest. It made me feel like I'm on the right track, I could be better at implementation, but am learning more and more about the ways to better myself. There were a lot of good tidbits to take away and definitely deserves another listen to soak up more.
