This weekend 02-21-15 has been consumed by the event of having to euthanize my wife's family dog of 15 years. It was an intense experience. Bergie had gotten to the point where he couldn't take care of himself anymore. His hind end had succumbed to old age, giving out, and arthritis. Sadly his body was giving up before his will. Bergie was the damn lovingest dog. It was terribly sad to see such a good soul leave. My wife and I share some great moments when we were welcomed to her parent's house by Bergie's ecstatic tail wagging and warmth. His large noggin lapped up the love we were craving to dish out. I loved his thick big ears and the plush nape of his neck. Bergie is a handsome dog and seeing him you would be itching to go give him a good petting. Scratching behind his ears was his favorite spot and it was fun to get him to sneeze after. He's a big teddy bear and always seemed to know how to cheer you up. Bergie will be greatly missed. He will always hold a place in our hearts.
